Following the success of Café Culture in Cranleigh, Age UK are pleased to announce that they will be launching this weekly activity in Staines.
Come along and join Age UK Surrey for a chat every Thursday 2pm - 4pm at Notcutts Garden Centre coffee shop. Anyone aged 50+ is welcome, no booking required. Get to know others who live in your area and enjoy a weekly get-together in a friendly, social environment. People are welcome to come on their own and bring their carers or family members to join in with the conversations.
The first meeting will be held on Thursday 19th October 2017, 2pm - 4pm and will be ongoing every week.
Address: Notcutts Garden Centre, 150 Staines Road, Laleham, Staines, TW18 2SF.
Within communities, many people do not see or speak to someone on a regular basis and therefore can become lonely and isolated. Café Culture is a great new initiative that encourages people to get out of the house and make new friends in a social environment on a weekly basis.
If you would like to find out more about Café Culture please call 01784 444200.

11th November - Radio Play Recording
Your chance to be part of the audience for a live recording of a Radio play written by Geoff Buckingham and due to be broadcast on Radio Wey later in the year.
The play is a brand new production marking this forthcoming Remembrance Day, 11thNovember.
It is an original production based upon the very moving story of Nurse Edith Cavell. Uniquely, we cover her early days in England as well as her remarkable exploits in enemy occupied Brussels, when she nursed and then bravely helped hundreds of allied troops escape from capture and execution by the German army. But she was then betrayed ...
The recording will be broadcast on Hospital Radio Wey before the end of this year, which is the centenary of The Edith Cavell Nursing Trust.
There is a great cast of local favourites, many of whom you may recognise from appearances in various past productions for The Manor Players and Shepperton Players at The Riverside Arts Centre in Sunbury-on-Thames! And our Musical Director is our Minister and former theatre professional Rev Vicci Davidson .
The production date is Sat 11th November 2017,( Remembrance Day) at Sunbury Methodist Church. 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm).
It will be a fund-raiser, for our Church hall roof, and The Edith Cavell Nursing Trust, who are celebrating their centenary. Also a unique way of remembering the fallen, as well as telling today’s generation about the sacrifices made by Edith Cavell and others in World War One.
Tickets just £8 and £4 concessions. Refreshments available. Free Parking.
Tickets can be booked by calling Sue Dye on 07525 944094 and the venue is Sunbury Methodist Church , Staines Rd East, Sunbury-on-Thames TW16 5AD.
